Direct answer

No upfront cost for tenants. You only pay if your claim wins, the fee comes out of the compensation, never out of your own pocket, and if you do not win you pay nothing. Here is how it works.

Direct answer

There is no upfront cost. We do not ask you for any money up front, and we never send you a bill. If your claim goes ahead and wins, the legal fee comes out of the compensation, not out of your own pocket. If the claim does not win, you pay nothing. To talk it through, call us free on 0800 030 4669.

How does it work?

We arrange a home inspection, gather the evidence, and pass your case to a housing-disrepair solicitor who works on a "no win, no fee" basis. That means:

  • No upfront cost.
  • You only pay if you win, and the fee comes out of the compensation, not your pocket.
  • If you don't win, you pay nothing.

The solicitor explains the fee in full before you sign anything, so there are no surprises. See what no win, no fee means.

Is there any cost if I am not sure I want to claim?

No. The first chat is free and there is no pressure. We will tell you honestly whether you have a case worth pursuing. If you do not, we will say so.

Is there any cost for my doctor or support worker?

No. If a doctor's surgery, a social prescriber, or a charity refers you to us, there is no cost to them either. We handle everything from that point.

What we can and cannot help with

We cannot help with everything. We help with housing disrepair, like damp, mould, leaks, broken heating, unsafe electrics, pests, and structural problems. For things like eviction, rehousing, or benefits, we will point you to the right free service, such as Shelter or Citizens Advice. See where to get other housing help.
