Who we are
Support for Tenants is a trading name of Cyntex Group Ltd (Company No. 15248911), registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller of any personal data you give us.
Our ICO registration number is ZB796409. Our FCA authorisation number is 1020217. You can reach us at help@supportfortenants.co.uk or 0800 030 4669.
What we collect
- Identity: name, postcode, phone, email
- Claim details: who your landlord is, what the disrepair issue is, when you reported it, photos and documents you send us
- Sensitive data (only if you provide it): health/medical info relevant to your claim
- Technical: IP address, browser, pages visited (via Vercel server logs, retained 30 days)
- Communications: a record of calls, WhatsApp messages, emails, and forms you submit to us
How we use it
- To assess whether you have a viable disrepair claim
- To pass your case (with your written consent) to one of our SRA-regulated panel solicitors
- To respond to questions, complaints, or callbacks you request
- To meet our FCA, ICO, anti-money-laundering, and complaints-handling duties
We will never sell your data or share it for marketing by third parties. Apart from the measurement and advertising cookies described under Cookies, which are only ever set if you accept them, we use your data solely to progress your claim and to meet our regulatory duties.
Legal basis
We rely on contract (assessing and progressing your claim), legitimate interests (operating a regulated claims business), consent (marketing messages, where you have opted in), and legal obligation (record-keeping for the FCA, ICO and HMRC).
Who we share it with
- Our panel solicitors, but only with your written consent
- Service providers (Vercel for hosting, Zoho for our forms, our phone and WhatsApp providers) under written data- processing agreements
- Measurement and advertising providers (Google Analytics 4, Google Ads and the Meta pixel), and only if you accept cookies. If you do not accept, these are blocked and set nothing. See Cookies below.
- Regulators (FCA, ICO, SRA) if they lawfully require us to
- Law enforcement if required by a valid legal request
Our hosting (Vercel) processes data in the EU and US under standard contractual clauses. Zoho processes in the EU.
How long we keep it
- Active claims: for the duration of the claim plus 6 years after closure (FCA + limitation period)
- Enquiries that don't become claims: 12 months from your last contact, then deleted
- Marketing consent records: until you withdraw consent, then 2 years for proof of withdrawal
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold on you
- Correct it if it's wrong
- Ask us to erase it (subject to our legal duties)
- Restrict how we use it
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing)
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk
Cookies
We use three third-party tools that set cookies: Google Analytics 4 (to measure how the site is used), Google Ads (to measure which adverts lead to enquiries) and the Meta pixel (the same, for Facebook and Instagram adverts).
None of them run until you accept. Analytics and advertising storage is set to denied by default before any tracker loads, and only switches to granted if you accept in the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. The cookies needed to make the site work are the only ones that run either way.
