About us
This website (supportfortenants.co.uk) is operated by Cyntex Group Ltd (Company No. 15248911), trading as Support for Tenants. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under reference number 1020217 as a claims management company.
Support for Tenants is not a law firm. We gather initial information and identify potential claims. Where appropriate, and with your consent, we refer your enquiry to a panel solicitor. The solicitor decides whether to accept the case and, if accepted, manages the legal claim and deals with your landlord.
Scope
We accept instructions from tenants and contract holders in England and Wales only. We do not handle claims in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
Use of this website
- The information here is general guidance, not legal advice for your specific situation
- You may use our tools (calculator, eligibility quiz, letter builder, what-to-bring) freely. We do not require you to engage our services to use them.
- You may not scrape, mirror, or republish the content for commercial use without our written permission
If you instruct us
- We assess your claim free of charge and tell you honestly whether we think it's worth pursuing
- If we accept your case, we issue you a written client agreement setting out:
- The scope of work
- Your right to cancel, and any charge for work already done
- The fee (capped by law, and only ever taken from your compensation, never from your own pocket)
- The ATE insurance (if any) and how it works
- Our complaints procedure (see complaints policy)
- With your written consent, we refer your file to an SRA-regulated solicitor on our panel who will run the legal work
- You remain free to instruct your own solicitor, complain to the Housing Ombudsman free, or take the matter to court yourself, at any time
Charges
No win, no fee.No upfront cost. If your claim succeeds, the panel solicitor's fee is capped by law and is only ever taken from your compensation, never from your own pocket. If your claim fails, you don't pay us.
Detailed pricing is in your individual client agreement. See also /no-win-no-fee.
Honest alternatives
You do not need us to bring a disrepair claim. You can:
- Complain directly to your landlord (free)
- Escalate to the Housing Ombudsman (England) or Public Services Ombudsman Wales, both free
- Bring a claim yourself in the County Court (court fees only)
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our liability for any claim arising from your use of this site (separate from the contract for legal services) is limited to £100.
Complaints
Complaints about our service: see our complaints policy. Unresolved complaints can be escalated to the Financial Ombudsman Service at financial-ombudsman.org.uk.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
