Ealing Council ordered to pay £3,700 after failing to fix a leak for three years
What happened
The landlord did not fix a leak for three years and communicated so poorly that the resident had to keep chasing and re-reporting it. The resident expressed suicidal thoughts and the landlord did not take the situation seriously enough.
What the independent statutory ruling ordered
Ordered the Chief Executive to apologise in writing, pay £3,700 in compensation and resolve the damaged-possessions claim with the resident or its insurer.
