Complain to Liverpool Council in writing (email or online form). They must acknowledge within 5 working days and issue a stage-1 response within 10 working days. If it is unresolved after stage 2, or 8 weeks have passed, you may have a claim, call us free on 0800 030 4669.

How to find Liverpool Council's complaints email

Search "Liverpool Council complaints policy" on their official website. Every council publishes one, usually with a dedicated complaints email and a downloadable PDF procedure.

If you can't find it, call the council's main switchboard and ask for "housing complaints". Take the name, time and date of every call.

The escalation route

  1. Stage 1: formal complaint to Liverpool Council. Response in 10 working days.
  2. Stage 2: senior review if unsatisfied. Response in 20 working days.
  3. Make a claim with us: if they still do not fix it after stage 2, or 8 weeks pass with no proper response, you may have a claim. Call us free on 0800 030 4669.
