About Support for Tenants

We help tenants in England and Wales hold their landlords to account for poor housing conditions. No upfront cost. SRA-regulated panel solicitors run the legal work. We manage everything else.

Who we are

Support for Tenants is a trading name of Cyntex Group Ltd (Company No. 15248911), a claims management company registered in England and Wales. We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA Firm Reference Number 1020217) and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO No. ZB796409).

We are not a law firm. Our panel solicitors are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and run all legal proceedings. Our role is to assess claims, gather evidence, and refer eligible cases to the panel with everything the solicitor needs to act.

Why we exist

In December 2020, two-year-old Awaab Ishak died in Rochdale from prolonged exposure to black mould in a social housing flat. His parents had reported the mould to their landlord repeatedly. Nothing was done.

Awaab's death changed housing law. From October 2025, Awaab's Law requires social landlords to respond to emergency hazards within 24 hours, investigate significant hazards within 10 working days, and complete works within 5 working days of finishing the investigation. If they miss those deadlines, they are in breach of the law.

The law only works if tenants know about it and act on it. Many do not. We do. Our job is to make those rights real.

What we do not do

  • ·We do not cover Scotland or Northern Ireland. The law there is different.
  • ·We do not act as your solicitor. Our panel solicitors do that.
  • ·We do not guarantee an outcome. We tell you honestly what we think your case is worth and why.
  • ·We do not charge you anything upfront or if your case does not succeed.
  • ·We do not sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.
